Last August 10, he was fatally struck by a vehicle while he was making a traffic stop in Fairfield. The tragedy has also killed Jaime Bueza Manuel, the driver of the SUV that Griess has pulled over. Sean Matthew Walker was the driver of the pickup that hit Griess and Manuel. He was also hurt in the incident but was released on the same day. The police have evidence that Walker was distracted by his phone at the time of the tragedy. Walker was charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and one count of reckless driving causing fatal injuries. This scene could have been prevented if Walker wasn’t busy with his phone.
